Vadodara student commits suicide
The student was going through exam jitters for having to appear in Gujarati subject paper

A SSC board student, Nidhiji Gopalkrishna Nair (15), committed suicide at Makarpura on Wednesday. The non-Gujarati student, a resident of Shankarbaug society at Makarpura, was reportedly going through exam jitters for having to appear in Gujarati subject paper.The Makarpura police have lodged a complaint and started investigation into the matter. According to the police, Nidhiji's father Gopal Krishna passed away four years ago while her mother Kalyani Nair was working in a courier office. A bright student since her childhood, the girl was always very serious about her studies. She opted for Gujarati as an optional language. After all the major exams were over, the only paper left was Gujarati. The exam was to be conducted on March 25. Her mother said, "She was busy preparing for the subject, but was worried about failure. On the fateful day, Nidhiji started her studies since early morning. I repeatedly called from the office. But no one took the call." Her mother rushed to her house and found the main door of the house open. She went to her daughter's study room, where she found Nidhiji hanging from the fan. Her mother took her to the SSG hospital, where the doctors declared her dead.
