Maulik Buch. Vadodara
Vadodara crime branch officials arrested three persons who purchased bulk mobile connections by submitting fake documents. The cops who suspect the mobile were used in illegal activities have continued further investigation in the matter. In the wake of the serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad and seizure of live bombs from Surat, the Vadodara police had initiated investigations keeping in mind the probability that a mobile device was used in the blast. The police commissioner of Vadodara had instructed the crime branch to investigate and find if any person had purchased bulk mobile connections in the city. During investigation, the crime branch team lead by police inspector Kaushik Pandya found that 10 mobile connections were purchased from the Reliance Web World located at Fatehgunj. On further search, the cops found that a person named Rahul Patel had purchased bulk connections. It was later found that that the phones were under the custody of Hafiz Ikbal Dudhwala, a resident of Laheripura. During investigation, Hafiz admitted before the police officials that his father Ikbal alias Chango Gabubhai Dudhwala had instructed him to purchase the mobile phones. He said he was also asked to give the mobile phones for use to Hazrat Saiyad, a resident of Tandalja at Vadodara. When police interrogated Hazrat, he said that as instructed by Ikbal Chango, he delivered the mobile phones to Nizammuddin Dudhwala, a resident of Nagarwada. The police also found that the connections were purchased on the basis of the fake documents. The police officials have continued with the investigations and hope to get important clues.
