It's campus interview time at the MS University of Vadodara and students of different faculties are getting placements in reputed companies with lucrative packages.A student of the chemical department was offered a package of Rs7.5 lakh per annum while another from the mechanical department of the faculty of engineering and technology got a job of Rs5.6lakh per annum as the starting salary. This indicates the increasing demand of MSU students in the industry. A rise of Rs1.5 lakh was seen in the packages in comparison to the last year. Reacting to the cause behind increase of the salary package, placement officer of the faculty of technology SR Raval said, "There is a great demand of engineers in the market. While the growth rate of industries is also increasing. I don't have candidates to offer to the companies coming for the placements. The companies are offering more in comparison to the last year. The main cause is the growing demand for skilled hands and reputation of the varsity in the industry." Jayrajsingh Jadeja, the placement officer of the faculty of management, said, “This time the management faculty students have been offered more salary by the companies coming for the campus placements.” He said, "This time, 26 companies have visited our faculty for campus interviews. Around 20 firms did so last year. The good performance of our alumni has also increased the demand for our students in the industry. This has raised the annual package of the management students. Another reason of increase in the annual packages is the 'A' grade ranking of MSU among the management colleges by a leading magazine." It's not just engineering and technology or management faculty students who have been offered higher packages.
