Prisoner attemptssuicide a 3rd time
The undertrial was charged with killing his own children

An undertrial prisoner attempted to end his life in Vadodara jail on Monday. The injured prisoner was admitted to SSG Hospital, where his condition is said to be serious. The prisoner, Kishor Solanki (35), a resident of Kadamfalia at Manjalpur, is in jail on the charges of killing his two minor children. This is the second instance of Kishore trying to commit suicide, said the police.According to reports, Kishor had married Jyoti about 15 years ago. They had two children - Rupal and Jivraj. About five years ago, Jyoti died of some disease. A year after her death, Kishor married Urmila, who gave birth to a child last year. But, within 15 days of delivery, she ran away with a neighbour. After her elopement, the responsibility of the two children fell on Kishor, who was still in trauma.By October 2007, Kishor had made up his mind to end his life. One evening, he enjoyed food with his two children whom he loved a lot. After sharing some intimate moments with them, he killed both of them with a knife. Later, he slashed his wrist in a bid to commit suicide.He was, however, saved due to timely medical help. But, in judicial custody, he took a dozen of sleeping pills and again attempted to end his life, but he was saved for the second time. He was then sent to Vadodara jail, where in the wee hours of Monday he used a sharp piece of stone to cut off his neck. Though his attempt failed, he sustained severe injuries
