Maulik Buch. Vadodara
The Bodeli bus tragedy has apparently jolted the GSRTC officials out of their stupor. They have decided to verify the technical soundness of all GSRTC buses which have run for more than 8 lakh kilomertres. This decision was taken at the divisional controllers' meet at Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Although the cause of Bodeli mishap is yet to become clear, the needle of suspicion is now on the poor condition of the bus. However, most of the GSRTC officials claimed that the Bodeli bus was well-maintained. Not only this, they also claimed that the bus was regularly checked by the team and there was no record of its breakdown since a month. According to authorities, the bus had travelled about 11,63,000 km, which proves that the bus was 'worn out'. The main agenda of today's divisional controllers' meeting was to discuss the current condition of corporation buses at various divisions of the state.
