Crime branch busts sex racket; 12 held
Four girls among those arrested in the raid

The Vadodara crime branch on Tuesday busted a sex scandal and arrested 12 persons, including four girls, on Tuesday. The crime branch had got a tip-off that three persons - Sikander Patel, Parulbibi alias Rehana and Altaf Salim Patel - were running a flesh trade by getting girls from Kolkatta and Mumbai and giving them to local customers. On the basis of this information, the police planned to unearth the scandal. As per the plan, the police used a decoy to trap them. When the decoy contacted Sikander, he was called near Rajvi tower at J P Road and when the decoy reached Rajvi tower, Sikander came there with a girl on a motorcycle. As soon as the decoy paid the amount to Sikander, policemen in plainclothes cordoned off the duo and arrested them. During interrogation, the girl said that she was from Kolkatta and had accompanied one Sushma alias Lovely, a resident of Mumbai, to Vadodara. They came to Parulbibi's house, where Parul had handed her over to Sikander for flesh trade.Meanwhile, policemen, posing as prospective customers, contacted Altaf and asked for three more girls. Altaf told them to come near Banco company. When another decoy reached Banco company, Altaf came there with three girls on his a motorcycle.While he was receiving Rs3,000 from the decoy, police officials in plainclothes arrested him with the three girls. During interrogation, it was revealed that the three girls were from Kolkatta. Then the police learnt that Sushma had gone to Prakuti flats at Manjalpur for the trade. Soon the policemen raided the flats and found six persons, along with Sushma, watching a blue film. The police arrested all the five along with Sushma. The five were Mihir Budhdev, Sirish Gajera, Hiren Dave, Jwalant Jani, and Anand Raval.The accused were produced in a local court for remand. The court granted the police two-day remand of the accused.
