BJP to boycott function
Maulik Buch. Vadodara
BJP leaders of Bharuch have decided to boycott the foundation laying ceremony of Dahej-Bharuch broad gauge railway line by union minister for railways Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday. The BJP leaders are angry as they claim that there has been a breach of protocol in organisaing the function. The invitation cards for the programme were distributed well in advance but they didn't have the names of prominent local BJP leaders. The name of Bharuch MP Mansukh Vasava was printed on the cards but those of Rajya Sabha member Bharatsingh Parmar and MLA of Bharuch Dushyant Patel, MLA of Ankleshwar Ishwar Patel were left out. This has caused resentment among the local BJP leaders. Talking to DNA, MP Mansukh Vasava said, "The Congress has tried to give a political colour to the programme. The broad gauge line is one of the most important works of this area. The Congress has insulted the district officials of the BJP by not including their names in the invitation cards." He claimed that it was because of the CM's efforts that the project had got a green light. “While names of members of Rajya Sabha like Ahmed Patel and Ikbal Patel are included in the invitation cards, the complete disregard of the BJP leaders is a politically-motivated act. This is a breach of the protocol, so BJP will keep away from the programme."
