Bar on artwork display irks student
MSU authorities tell student not to put up Goddess Durga sculpture, wrapped in obscene papers, for public viewing

University authorities have asked a student of the MSU fine arts department not to put a Goddess Durga sculpture for public viewing as it might spark a controversy. The student, Jinal Patel, had made a sculpture of Goddess Durga and covered it with newspaper pages carrying reports on obscene paintings published last year. According to sources, after the jury evaluated the sculpture, faculty officials asked the student not to put the sculpture for public viewing. According to students, an annoyed Patel put a notice where the sculpture had been installed.The notice states: "I have been told by university authorities not to put the sculpture on display. Whatever we create under their guidance is not fit for public viewing! Now the public is coming to see the sculpture; who can stop the public?" The sculpture titled 'Who covered my Durga' was on display which has been 'covered' before it
