Jhagadiya people seek custody of rapists
The gangrape victim identifies all the 8 accused at an identification parade

Residents of Jhagadiya laid siege to the Mamlatdar office on Saturday and demanded to hand over all the eight persons involved in gangraping a minor girl on the outskirts of Ranipura village.The Jhagadiya brought all the accused to Mamlatdar office for identification. The victim and his boy friend, who was accompanying her at the time of the incident, identified all the eight rapists. As soon as Jhagadiya residents came to know that the rape accused had been brought to Mamlatdar office, they gathered outside it and staged a demonstration. The irate residents demanded to hand over all the accused to them. However, the police intervened and brought the situation under control.

Jhagadiya victim ready to take board exams
Though still not out of trauma, the tribal girl is sure to get through

The tribal girl, the victim of Jhagadiya gangrape, is ready to appear in the SSC board examinations. She has demanded special sitting arrangements for her at the examination centre. Sources close to her said she wanted a separate hall for herself, as she is uncomfortable to sit with other examinees.The girl, who is still to come out of the trauma of the incident, is confident about her preparations for the examination.Talking to DNA, she said, "I have done my preparations despite all the unfortunate experiences I had to go through the last month. I am quite confident of getting through the examination."On Sunday, many residents of Jhagadiya visited to wish the girl for her examinations. Deputy sarpanch Vijay Chauhan said, "We appreciate the courage of the girl and we will support her in whatever way possible."The residents of Jhagadiya have stood rock solid in their support the rape victim.
