Spurious eye-drops seized at ashram
Users complained of itching in the eyes and other

Food and drug officials seized 56 bottles of 'Santkrupa brand Netrabindu eye-drops' being sold at the Asaram Ashram, Godhra. Officials entered the premises along with a police escort, after complaints were raised by purchasers of the eye-drops.RN Ram, drug inspector, Godhra, and other officials entered the Ashram premises under police protection to inspect the stock of eye-drops.Initially, an investigation into the date of manufacture and batch number of the eye-drops was conducted. Primary investigations revealed that the eye-drops were manufactured at an Ahmedabad pharmacy.The food and drug officials did not reveal their findings after inspection of the eye-drops. According to sources, samples of the eye-drops were sent by the food and drug officials for analysis. A senior official was rushed in from Vadodara to aid in further investigations.Distribution of the eye-drops ceased after the food and drug officials concluded their search of the Ashram premises.
