Ruling panel sweeps BCA polls
Winners say 'good work' paid for them

The Chirayu Amin-led ruling panel has swept the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) elections. The group bagged almost 90 per cent of votes polled in the Friday elections.Industrialist Amin has already been declared BCA president when he was elected without contest. For the post of vice-president, results for which were declared on Saturday, Sanjay Patel defeated his rival by a margin of 997 votes. Another post of vice-president went to Rakesh Parikh, who secured 1,053 votes. Former Test player and India coach, Anshuman Gaekwad, got only 249. Samarjitsingh Gaekwad and Vijaysingh Indulkar won the elections for the posts of secretaries. While Gaekwad got 1,108 votes, Indulkar polled 1,024 votes. Sachin Dalvi was declared winner for the post of treasurer. He got 1,006 votes. The Amin-led group, comprising Alpesh Amin ,Arun Gandhi, Bhupendra Patel, Chetan Pawar and Snehal Parikh, won the election for the posts of managing committee life members. Samarjitsingh, the winner for the posts of secretary and vice-patron, said "This is panel's victory. The members have voted in our favor on account of the work we have done during our tenure". Sanjay Patel said, "We were confident of victory, because we have worked for cricket and the cricketers. We will now try to implement our plans for development future dreams into action."
