New MSU V-C gets down to business
Ramesh Goyal wants to improve the standard of general courses
Maulik Buch. Vadodara
MS University has finally got an alumnus Ramesh Goyal as its new vice-chancellor. A renowned researcher in the field of pharmacology, Goyal took over the charge on Thursday evening. After assuming office, Goyal said, "I never expected to be the V-C of MSU, from which I completed my MSc." Spelling out his priorities, he pointed out, "I would like to improve the standard of the general courses, so that students who pass graduation can face the challenges. There is a vast gap between a simple graduate and a specialised one and I want to bridge that gap." Goyal said he would try to take the university to greater heights. The new V-C said, "I am a professor and researcher. I like to interact with students from all faculties. I often suggest them to carry out academic exercises which could help them to improve their knowledge in their respective subjects. In some cases, the students also reverted back and expressed their gratitude to me for my advice." Sharing his views about research orientation at the MSU, Goyal said, "I have been associated with the department of pharmacology since a long time. The technology is well-known, but I would like to develop it further by sharing my expertise in the field of research."
