Yoga, music can help examinees relax
Maulik Buch. Vadodara
Most students appearing at the board examinations that begin next month are currently under stress and are battling anxiety in the run up to the examinations. Some psychiatrists and counsellors of Vadodara, along with some government officials, have set up a helpline for examinees. They have also suggested measures that can help students relax all through the examination period. The psychiatrists said students should sleep for 6 to 8 hours if they want to give their best in the examination. During their waking hours, they can listen to light instrumental music to rest completely. Yogic exercises such as deep breathing (pranayam) and self-suggestion techniques are also very helpful in tackling stress, the psychiatrists said, adding that examinees should also have a balanced diet. Students can also practice Savasana (lied still like a dead body) regularly for 5 to 10 minutes, taking deep breath all the while. This asana will help them sleep without any tranquilisers. Prayanam also increases concentration levels.
