Without the kids, money is useless Maulik Buch. Bodeli Scathing criticism greeted education minister Ramanlal Vora, Jashvant Bhabhor and Mangubhai Patel, who went to Bamroli village to hand over the compensation cheques, on Thursday. The indignant family members of the victims expressed their ire in front of the three ministers. They complained to them about the local leaders who allegedly did not take the call when the tragedy was unfolding. A member of the bereaved family asked the ministers, "What will we do with the money when our loving kids are no more? It is useless." When a minister handed over a cheque to father of another victim, he caustically remarked, "When we needed urgent help from the government, it was delayed." The kin of the victims asked, "Why should we call them leaders when they cannot help us in crisis?" Shankarbhai Damor, a local resident, said, "The government is propagating the Beti Bachavo movement but when girls of Bamroli needed help, the administration was too late to react."When the ministers reached Parna village, Hasmukhbhai Baria, father of a victim Deepika, told the ministers to deploy new buses instead of the old and rickety ones on the route so that the tragedy was not repeated. He said, the government was running CNG buses for city commuters, while they were plying old buses in the villages." | |
